Why do little boys have to show their love in such a way?

In case you're not sure what I'm talking about, you must read Honey Bunny Funnybunny by Marilyn Sadler.

PJ Funnbunny is Honey Bunny's older brother and he shows his love by tying the sleeves of her pretty dresses into knots, switching the heads of her dolls, and many other ways.
PJ shows his love by teasing his little sister. Honey Bunny doesn't like the way her brother treats her and one night he goes too far in his teasing and gets into a lot of trouble. So he stops teasing Honey Bunny.

Grab this adorable book and see how she reacts to the change of heart from her big brother.

My sweet daughters both completely relate to this story. They love reading it over and over again, as they laugh and giggle about the things PJ does to Honey Bunny.

Sweet girls, just remember how much your big brother loves you!

An activity we enjoyed doing with this book is a
Sibling Love Activity Jar.

To create ours we got a mason jar and added some stickers. Taking turns adding one sticker at a time.

Then they wrote down on pieces of paper some fun activities they like to do with each other. Mack Attack drew pictures of what she likes to do with her big brother on pink paper because that is her favorite color. B wrote what he loves to do with his little sisters on green paper because, yep you guessed it, that is his favorite color.

It was so fun to see what activities they came up with that they like to do together. Some examples were playing dolls, riding bikes by the river, going on a butterfly hunt, crawdad fishing, and playing on the Wii.

Our beautiful jar sits on the kitchen window sill and when the kids are struggling to get along or are bored they take turns drawing a piece of paper from the Sibling Love Activity Jar.

B chooses the pink so they can do something together that his sister likes. Mack Attack chooses the activities written on green so she can see just what B loves to do with her!

This activity has been great to help them refocus their energy on each other and what they love doing together.

If your daughters are wondering why their brothers treat them the way they do, sit down with them and read this story together. They will quickly pick up on why!

Of course, make sure to keep this book out of the hands of those brothers.
We wouldn't want to give them any ideas!
